AccessCatch

AccessCatch

Accessibility Checker for WCAG & EAA

In development

The accessibility problems a rule checker cannot see.

AccessCatch runs the standard automated WCAG checks, then judges what rules cannot: whether alt text describes the image, whether a link makes sense out of context, whether an error message helps.

One launch email, nothing else. What we keep.

  1. Link text

“Click here” — read alone by a screen reader, this says nothing about where it goes.

    Fails in context
  2. Image alt

alt="IMG_4021.jpg" next to a heading about the 2026 pricing table.

    Alt text is a filename
  3. Form error

“Invalid input.” — does not say which field or how to fix it.

    Unhelpful error
  4. Heading

“Delivery and returns” above three paragraphs about delivery and returns.

The problem

Automated checkers pass pages that people cannot use

A rule engine can tell you an image has alt text. It cannot tell you the alt text is useless. With the European Accessibility Act now applying to new products and services, agencies need a fast first pass that catches both kinds of problem.

Rule failures

The standard automated checks, powered by the open-source axe-core engine.

Judgement calls

Link purpose, alt text against its context, headings against their sections, button labels, error messages, reading level.

A report you can hand over

CSV export, and a branded PDF on the agency plan.

How it will work

Three steps, and you stay in charge.

  1. 1

Click the icon on any page

It only ever runs when you ask, on the tab you are looking at.

  2. 2

    Two lists appear

Rule failures, and judgement calls with a confidence figure so you can triage.

  3. 3

    Hover to find it

Each item highlights the element on the page. Export when you are done.

Where it will run

Where it will run

Any page, on click.

Any website
Including staging sites and pages behind a login, because it runs in your browser.
One page at a time
Bulk scanning of a whole site is planned for the agency plan.

Privacy, plainly

What it reads, and what it never does.

It needs no standing permission: it sees a page only when you click it.

What it will read

  • Text of links, headings, buttons, alt attributes and error messages on the page you scan
  • Short snippets of surrounding text, for context

What it never touches

  • Images themselves: it judges alt text against nearby text, not pixels
  • Form values, passwords or anything you type
  • Any page you did not click it on

Those text snippets are sent to our server and on to the AI model that judges them. The rule checks run entirely in your browser. The full policy will be published before launch.

Questions

Fair things to ask.

Something else? support@codewithkolin.com

Does passing mean my site is compliant?

No. No automated tool can certify conformance with WCAG or the European Accessibility Act. That needs testing by people, including people who use assistive technology. This is a fast first pass.

Can it judge my images?

Not the pictures themselves. It checks whether the alt text makes sense next to the surrounding content, which is where most real failures are.

Does it work on pages in German, French or Dutch?

The rule checks do. The judgement calls will be most accurate in English at launch, and we will say clearly which languages have been tested.

When will it be ready?
