What the badges mean
Four honest answers, not a single letter grade for the whole product.
Specific details of real use, in natural wording.
Too generic to tell either way. Plenty of honest buyers write like this, so read on rather than write it off.
Strong signs of something other than an ordinary buyer: marketing copy, a template, or a review of a different product.
A few words say nothing either way, so very short reviews are left unscored and are never sent anywhere.
A score is an automated opinion about how a review reads. It is not a statement of fact about any reviewer, seller or product. Imperfect or non-native English is never treated as a sign of a fake.

Is a low score proof that a review is fake?
No. It is a judgement about how the text reads: ad-like wording, templates, talk of free products, a review that is about a different product. Genuine reviews can be short and vague too, which is why generic ones get amber, not red. Treat a score as a reason to look closer, not a verdict.
How is this different from the other review checkers?
Many checkers give one grade for the whole product and only work on Amazon. FakeCatch scores each review, so you can see which ones to skip. It works on Flipkart, Trustpilot and independent stores as well as Amazon. And it answers in about a second, so badges appear while the page is still loading.
Why does review text leave my browser?
The scoring is done by an AI model that is far too large to run inside an extension. The text goes to our server and on to the model provider, and the score comes back. Our server keeps the score, filed under a one-way fingerprint of the text, so the same review is not scored twice. The privacy policy says exactly who handles what.
Does it work in languages other than English?
It is most accurate in English, including informal and non-native English. It will score reviews in other languages, with less certainty.
It shows nothing on a store I use. Why?
Some stores render reviews in ways an extension cannot reach, or use a review widget FakeCatch does not read yet. Email us the page address and it goes on the list.
